break

And today was the start of winter break!
I love waking up an hour later than normal and getting to enjoy not just watch the kids but play with them.  Its nice for me to not have to always be correcting them but instead teach them through our actions.
Today we had a Foosball tournament then tomorrow soccer. Everyday we get to do something different with the kids.

A group that was here gave us staff a party and served us food...American food. Steak, potatoes, broccoli and other goodies. Here is a picture of our table

Staff dinner and some family of staff

And these pictures below are from chapel class. We have it every Wednesday. Here are just two of the kids! Plus me.

I come alive

I can't keep quiet.
I must tell you this.
I must tell you that MY LIFE IS NO LONGER MINE.

I must tell you that despite myself and my weaknesses and flaws HE IS ALL THAT LIFE IS WORTH LIVING FOR...

dry bones come to life

Ezekiel 37:1-10

1 The hand of the LORD was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. 2 He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. 3 He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?”

I said, “Sovereign LORD, you alone know.”

4 Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD! 5 This is what the Sovereign LORD says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. 6 I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’”

7 So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. 8 I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.

9 Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’” 10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army.

Betsy

Lately God has been reminding me of all that He has blessed me with. Growing up He provided so much and I really do have so many great memories... so much to be thankful for!

Today I was thinking of the all the times my brother ,Landon, and I were drove in my blue 1987 Cadillac de Ville Betsy. She had the tendency to be very random, Betsy had a mind of her own...lets just say that. My Senior year My brother and I drove everywhere together. In that car we have so many great memories. But one specific time that I was remembering was in the fall that year when I had to pick him up from some place and we took the freeway home... Betsy decided to just stop except she kept rolling so we got to pull off to the side. At first I think we both didn't know what to do so we just stopped to pray. We both prayed and started to thank God for all that he has done and given us and for safety.
We didn't want to call home and explain what was happening so we just tried to figure it out... kinda stupid.  Well, we ended up turning Betsy off then on and she would drive for a few feet then turn off again and just keep rolling. We did that ( on and off) all the way home, praying all the way for her to keep going. Along the way people would stop and ask if we were fine or need help but we really didn't mind... we were laughing and joking all the way home.  It was a very interesting experience. And at one point she wouldn't start so we just stopped for about 10 mins and got to see the beautiful sunset.

A car similar to Betsy

I am not one that is into cars and still to this day I still don't know what happened but really I don't care. That experience was great, fun, and not stressful. We had a time to bond and talk about things that were needed. It was as if God used my old car to give Landon and I a time to just get away from all the crap that was going on at that time in life and praise God in all that is happening, He knew we needed it. Thank Him for it all in the good and bad whatever circumstance.

Written as if He is speaking directly to you.
"Be willing to go out on a limb with Me. If that is where I am leading you, it is the safest place to be. Your desire to live a risk-free life is a form of unbelief.  You longing to live close to Me is at odds with your attempts to minimize risk. You are approaching a crossroads in your journey. In order to follow Me wholeheartedly, you must relinquish your tendency to play it safe.
Let Me lead you step by step through this day. If your primary focus is on Me, you can walk along perilous paths without being afraid. Eventually, you will learn to relax and enjoy the adventure of our journey together.  As long as you stay close to Me, My sovereign Presence protects you wherever you go."

The weather here for sure has a mind of its own. Since Monday its been freezing and windy... really reminds me of this beach camping place I grew up going to with my family Jalama Beach California in the winter. Its super windy and super super cold at night. But a few weeks ago it was hot enough to wear shorts! So crazy! In class we are all freezing there is no insulation so we have gloves on, more layers, and hoods. I guess its not totally bad... its not like it snows here. But for someone who has grown up with the weather only going down to 30 degrees, its cold. But i love it.

So I think God brought a little friend to the ranch just for pure joy. This little puppy dog with no official name just showed up. The boys dorm has taken it in, but I am totally open to babysit... anytime! I love it!!! Its a German Shepherd mix. I need to get a picture and post it. Adorable dog and just squeezes into comfy positions to stay safe and warm. It follows around the dorm dad Ray during the day while he works. Today I prayed when i woke up to just have love notes from God throughout the day. On my way to class early this morning before breakfast I turn the corner and the puppy is running towards me! Exactly what was needed! I got to hold him for a bit and that gave me joy for the day. Yahweh has been attentive to me. So simple and meant so much.

thorn

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.  2 Corinthians 12: 9-10
