So good so so good to me

First of all I just tried and orange with some nutella on top... let me just say everyone needs to try that. Wow AMAZING...

Today was my first time teaching, with Olivia on the side to control random quarrels. Every Monday now I teach. Olivia and I are trying to do a team teaching thing. This is so new to me, I have never planned a class, made the rules, or had to get creative ideas for the kids to learn. So different for me...
I do love it so far and the kids are defiantly teaching me to have patience. I really am learning so much about each student.

Today was a good day. Just a bit of the normal issues with the boys... distractions and goofy self's.  Olivia planned out the week already, which was awesome, so i taught what she had planned. They are learning vocab words from a story with Donald duck in it... and to remember the words they have to draw pictures to match with the word.

A few days ago I was praying for patience with them. Just to love them no matter what their attitude is towards me and to just be there for them. I happened to stumble upon a blog and the bloggers post really spoke to me. The blogger is teaching in Singapore and has learned a lot of wisdom about teaching. For example one thing that stuck out to me was...

"Wash their feet. Show them the full extent of the Father's love. Go the extra mile. Wash the feet of the ones who would betray you and who would rather you dead. Though you be their leader and not their servant, wash their feet. Good day, bad day, impossible day—wash their feet. Forget yourself. Love them. Make yourself small. Make yourself redundant. May they forget the channel, seeking only Him. "

So today that's what I did. After break once they all had their snacks I asked them If they could please take off their shoes and they sat down lined up and one by one I got to scrub their feet. They were very giggly at first, were a bit shocked, and some confused. And I explained to them why I was washing their feet John 1-17 Jesus now shows his disciples the full extent of his love.

I told just told them that I love them and I really want them to know that I do really care about them no matter what. At that time I didn't want to tell them what to do I just wanted to serve them. So it was fun and they had a good time. I am thankful that God choose these kids to be Deaf. I'm so glad because if they didn't get the chance to be here then they would not learn about God. He has a plan for everyone's lives...and its way better than anything I could ever plan.

Keep sweet

Lots of thought... my brain is scattered :)

Lets see.... what has been going on here at Rancho Sordo Mudo... hm

Oh ok well I found out yesterday by the principle Johnny that I am switching classes from the little guys to the next level up, its kinda like 1st grade class. Olivia is the teacher but now her and I are team teaching. I will be teaching once a week and planning class with her for the week. Its totally different than the little guys. In the other class it was very simple and fun for them. In that class i really had to sit with a few students and help them one on one. Also a few students are at very different levels in the kinder class but not high enough to more on. So its for sure interesting...

In the new class there are 5 boys and 3 girls. They know how to do simple math like adding, writing their names, they know more of Mexico's history and communicate better with signing. Im a bit nervous to teach, i have to say. Only because a lot of them know me as a friend and not respected as authority...yet. Well i guess they do i mean ive had to talk with some of the kids before.I think i am just not sure what to expect. Theyre attitues and emotions are completly different from day to day. Fights brake out ,with the younger boys, so easily. Over an accident and misunderstandings. Its very difficult for them to understand an accident from on purpose and from right or wrong...
every student is very different and learns and needs to be corrected different. That is not what i am used to at all... when i was in school my teachers always did the same for everyone. So this is new for me and i do like getting to know everyone better and seeing everyone handles things different.

Anyways! Its going to be very exciting and different. For sure. Im not going to get worried about it because i know that i have a Helper who knows us all and knows what we need. He is teaching me how to teach the kiddos. I cannot do this without Him. I know that He has me here and will be by my side every step. God is teaching me to rely on Him for everything, even the things i think i can do without Him. I am learning to give it all to Him, and actually listen to what He has to say. Life is seriously so much better and i have much more love and joy when i rely on Him.

"Go gently through this day, keeping your eyes on Me. I will open up the way before you, as you take steps of trust along your path. Sometimes the way before you  appears to be blocked.  If you focus on the obstacle or search for away around it, you will probably go off course. Instead, focus on Me, the Shepherd who is leading you along your life-journey. Before you know it, the "obstacle" will be behind you and you will hardly know how you passed through it.
That is the secret of success in My kingdom. Although you remain aware of the visible world around you, your primary awareness is of Me. When the road before you looks rocky, you can trust Me to to get you through that rough patch. My Presence enables you to face each day with confidence."

our God reigns

ok so sorry... I'm really bad at this blogging thing. I'm more of a journal girl. I like to write my thoughts on paper. So a lot of things I have been writing in my journal and have not had time to blog them... just fyi

Its crazy to think Jesus walked this earth. It seems like a tale or a dream. But its totally real 100% true. And i was thinking the same rain that has been falling the past weeks is the same water from the beginning. the same blue sky (except they didn't have the bad ozone crap).  The sky i fell through, when i went skydiving, is the same air Jesus breathed. That is awesome.

Wont you dance with me oh, Lover of my soul... to the song of all songs
romance me oh Lover of my soul.

that would be such an amazing dance. I gotta say.
in heaven does God have time to be with us one on one? Or maybe we will only want to worship him and that will be enough...
I want to just dance with Him, oh that would be wonderful.

Its weird to think that what goes on now, these years are the most important years that are shaping me. things that i do or dont do... habits i make. I hope when i grow up/older i feel thins in love with God. I pray that i remember this love. That He continues to show me daily His love and its new and exciting everyday. I want to remember all that He has done for me and all that He was gotten me through. the good and bad.

All forever God keep me burning keep me burning with the fire of Your love.

Quote

You called me out of the dead of winter
And melted the ice that trapped my heart
Freedom came as winter's walls fell down
From death to life, You gave a new start
Then came spring...
Then came spring...
Lying in the green grass full of Your love
You started speaking of Your plans for me
The Word took root and began to bloom
Your beauty was all my eyes could see
Then came summer...
Then came summer...
Heat came, threatening to scorch my faith
But you planted me near the river's cool flow
Your fruit was sweet through all the toil
Ever growing, I left behind all I used to know
Then came autumn...
Then came autumn...
Beautiful colors began to surround me
The breeze refreshed my tired, weary soul
Your joy and peace filled up my heart
Never had I felt more full, more whole
Then the first leaf fell from my branches
I gasp in horror as it floated to the ground
Soon all I had worked for was dead and gone
I clutched tightly to what was left to be found
My child, this is the season for death
Your pulled me close and gently said
It is time to show you beauty in sacrifice
Please Lord please, any other way! I pled
Child the fruit that falls will soon be seeds
Deeper in the ground they will fall and stay
Until I make them grow into something new
Death for you will make much life one day
Then I looked deep into His eyes and knew
I truly longed to do His will with my last breath
So I opened up my arms freely and let it all fall
Finally, I could see the sweet beauty in death
So came autumn...
So came autumn...

Do not calculate without God

"God seems to have a delightful way of upsetting the things we have calculated on without taking Him into account. We get into circumstances which were not chosen by God, and suddenly we find we have been calculating without God; He has not entered in as a living factor.  The one thing that keeps us from the possibility of worrying is bringing God in as the greatest factor in all our calculations.
In our religion it is customary to put God first, but we are apt to think it is an impertinence to put Him first in the practical issues of our lives. If we imagine we have to put on our Sunday moods before we come near to God, we will never come near to Him. We must come as we are."   Oswald Chambers

We Had A Play

On Friday our class did a play...   Oso Pardo, Oso Pardo, ¿Qué Ves Ahí
It was a very fun entertaining day.
After doing our daily routine: Chapel, Bano/Agua, Prayer, Calender, stretch/exercise, chit chat (where one kid at a time comes and sits at the front of the class and signs whatever he or she wants for 1 minute).  Then we filed into the chow hall and made sugar cookies! We had the kids pour the ingredients into the bowl, stir it all up, and perhaps sneak a bite. :) We made the cookies for all the people and other kids coming to watch our play.
Before the play started we practiced a few times all the kids parts. All of the kids had their own masks ( they made themselves) and each kid was a different animal! They got really excited and some nervous as it was starting. They did great, they were super adorable and everyone enjoyed it. The day was very fun filled.

                                                                     Our fun little play

I have to say there is never a normal day in our class.  It is always new and I never know what to expect but I like it that way! Already the kids have grown so much from the start of school not knowing any sign or having a language. Everyday has its own ups and downs and full of crazy emotions. All I can pray is that they learn to love and see that we want to help them to be able to express and communicate. I pray that they see You, Heavenly Father, through us. Show me how to love like You.
